Reminders/info:
Photo ID- 100% photo ID checks are required. This must be a physical government issued photo ID, not an electronic version.
Emergency cards- Make changes or additions to emergency cards, sign, and return. Please make sure phone numbers are accurate, and emergency contacts are people that can make it to Diggs within an hour in case of an emergency.
Early Dismissal OR Late Arrival-
-
Late arrival-When late to school (any time after the doors close at 9:30) students must be walked to the building and signed in by the adult delivering them to school. To enter the school, the adult must have a photo ID. Please do not just leave your children at the curb and drive away.
-
Early dismissal or end of day transportation changes-Students are only signed out to the parent or guardian that is domiciled for our school zone. This means that the parent that lives in-zone can pick the child up. If any other parent, stepparent, person, relative, or friend is sent by a parent to pick a child up then a note must come in with that information on it. All changes or adjustments are for one day only. Example: If grandma picks a child up each Thursday for an appointment the parent must send a note in every Thursday indicating this.
-
Changes in transportation and custody-Students with custody or visitation schedules must follow the same process as early dismissal or end of day transportation information above. The registering parent who lives in the school zone has a right to know where the child is, therefore, that parent must send a note each time there is a change in transportation or pick up outside the one mode of transportation that was signed up for at the beginning of the year.
Arrivals-Doors open at 9:15 each day. Students may be delivered curbside by a parent/guardian or via bus. Doors close at 9:30, any students not in the door by 9:30 will be marked late and must be signed in by the parent/guardian if late, please make arrangements to have your child to school on time daily.
-
Breakfast will not be served on the first day of school. Beginning on the second day of school, students who want to purchase breakfast may do so. Students will need their student ID number, that can be found in parentvue, in order to purchase breakfast. Teachers will also provide this number to students on the first day.
Dismissal-Begins at 3:55 each day. Car-riders are dismissed to the front of the school where they will wait in grade level lines to be ushered to cars by staff. Parents must have photo ID and must have completed the end of day transportation form in order to get a car-rider tag.

No early dismissal is permitted after 3:30 daily (1:30 on early dismissal days) due to busy end of day procedures. Parents who need to sign a child out early occasionally must do so prior to 3:30 or they will be required to wait until car-riders are called at 3:55.

Parents are only permitted access to their child, may bring external food (for their child only), and must exit directly after lunch. Lunch visits may start October 1, 2024 as we want students to get into the routine of the school year. Parents must scan and complete an electronic form upon their arrival for lunch that indicates they have accepted the lunch guest expectations.
Birthdays and Snacks/Treats (pg 22 of Parent Handbook/Calendar)- (Due to allergies, students and their parents/guardians are not allowed to bring to school and distribute any outside food products unless the products are commercially manufactured, individually wrapped in single serving sizes and marked with the ingredients and the nutritional facts label. Trays of cupcakes, clear plastic wrapped treats (ie: Little Debbie’s snacks, Twinkies, Swiss Cake Roles) or not permitted unless each individual item has the nutrition facts and ingredients listed. Consider non-edible items that may be used to recognize or celebrate your child's birthday.
-
The main office secretaries are tasked with being the “cupcake police” they will review the items you bring in and send them home with you if they do not meet the requirements. Please be kind as this is a policy we are required to follow.
Car-Rider Reminders
-
The car rider pick-up and drop-off area is located in the front of the school. Due to the number of car riders, please pick up and drop off your child at the designated locations. Staff will be available to receive students starting at 9:15 AM. It is imperative that students are not dropped off prior to this time as there is no designated supervision.
-
Please be patient as it does take more time during the first two weeks of school while students are learning the routine. You must have your car-rider tag and photo ID available to staff to verify in the car-rider line each day.
-
Please do not exit your vehicle or leave your car unattended at the curb during this time.
-
Car tags are for everyday car-riders only. For one day only car-riders throughout the year you will send a note to the main office for the one-day change. At dismissal, you will park and report to the office to sign your child out. If a car-rider tag is needed, please complete this form: https://forms.office.com/r/TwXCj01uGq . If you have already completed the form your car tag is available for pick-up in the main office before 2:30. If you can’t come pick it up, you will receive the car-rider tag during dismissal. Please have your photo ID available while picking your child up.
Thank you for your support as we kick off our school year!
