Gifted Characteristics – Does my child consistently….

  • Learn letters or numbers early and read before being formally taught 

  • Use sophisticated sentence structure in speech and writing 

  • Demonstrate an unusual understanding of difficult math or science concepts

Good Students 

  • Know the answer 

  • Enjoy school 

  • Grasp meaning 

  • Copy accurately 

  • Have good ideas 

  • Enjoy peers 

  • Absorb information 

  • Achieve mastery in 3-8 repetitions 

Gifted Learners 

  • Ask the questions 

  • Enjoy learning 

  • Draw inferences 

  • Create new designs 

  • Have unexpected ideas 

  • Prefer adults 

  • Manipulate information 

  • Achieve mastery in 1-2 repetitions 

How to nominate your child 

A referral form will be available at https://www.ccboe.com/index.php/gifted-education-services or from the Learning Resource Teacher 

  • Forms must be completed and returned to the Learning Resource Teacher. 

  • Notification will be sent home in late spring
